2023 Project Grantees
-
Courtney will be using her funds to interview and create portraits of Nueva Vida cancer survivor patients, visualizing their stories and voices, in partnership with Nueva Vida, for future exhibition as a series, "To See and Be Seen".
-
Katherine will be using her funds to implement a new installation and painting exhibition, titled "Knot Forest", at the Popcorn Gallery of Glen Echo Park in Glen Echo, MD. Through the creation of mosaics, paper painting, and window installation influenced by histories of traditional Chinese ink and Buddhist landscape painting, Mann's exhibition will address her concerns with environment, maximalism, mythology, and how the contemporary Western understanding of landscape painting is circumscribed by a history of utopic, colonial images. This exhibition will include community-facing workshops, including direct participation in the installation, which will transform throughout the exhibition.
2020-22 Project Grantees
